As a Salesforce Administrator transitioning to a developer, I tapped as many resources I could find for learning: Trailhead, scoured youtube for content, paid educational sites like Pluralsight and Udemy, notable developers with great content that helped learn Apex like Matt Gerry, David Liu, Salesforce Hulk, and many others. Although these are all tremendous resources, I couldn’t shake the feeling that I was learning in a vacuum. Here’s how you do a loop, here’s how you construct an if statement, this is the way you write a SOQL query. I was learning and these resources are great, but I couldn’t find any resource to help teach me
Apex from the beginning, in order, then put it all together. Then, I found Igor. Igor has a comprehensive course that teaches learning Apex in order, with assignments to reinforce what you’ve learned. With this course, I began to not only learn how to code in Apex, but how everything fits together. Igor is patient, incredibly knowledgeable, and
seemingly always available as I ask endless ridiculous questions on his Slack channel. Igor is also an incredible sounding board for current challenges and tasks I have a work, providing advice and guidance through difficult requests and obstacles. After 6 months working with Igor, I’m able to understand code written in our Salesforce org, make changes to existing code, and write new code on my own. I feel well on my way to becoming a competent developer and I would not be where I am without him.
